When Essential Oils are diffused into the air we inhale the aromatic molecules. They interact with the body olifactory nerves and the limbic system. The structures of the limbic system are involved with behaviour control, long term memory, learning, motivation and emotion.
Emotions have their roots in the limbic system. It is directly connected to the part of the brain that controls the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, response to stress and other emotions.
